Cable & Wireless provides and operates the national and international telecommunications for St. Helena under an exclusive licence agreement with the St. Helena Government. It provides business and domestic users with telecommunication services, which includes telephone, telegraph, facsimile, internet and data transmission.
It also provides terrestrial television - UHF Television Rebroadcast of Satellite Television DSTV, which is also under licence agreement with the St. Helena Government.
Cable & Wireless supports the community not only through staff participation but also through sponsorship. Notable sponsorship over the years is as follows:
Education
The 64Kb internet Lease Line link at Prince Andrew School, 100 hours per month proportioned to Middle and First Schools, provision of Middle Schools Athletics Cup and St. Helena Dolphin Competition.

- medals for Junior Football Knockout

Health and social services officer
In support of the student nurses a reduction in the monthly costs for the 64Kb internet lease line link, the classification as ‘Free Toll’ for incoming calls to the Child Help Line, Sex Help Line and Alcoholics Anonymous line and Christmas parties at Barnview, Sundale House and The Haven.

In partnership provided installation support for telephone service to the elderly and disabled.
