Cable & Wireless Seychelles Ltd forms an integral part of the Cable & Wireless world wide group of businesses. The Company has come a long way from the early years when John Pender, "the cable king" and founder of this large company helped lay the first telegraph cable linking Seychelles to the world.

Today, Cable & Wireless Seychelles Ltd provides over 20,000 telephone lines and about the same number of mobile phones in Seychelles. There are actually 15 Remote Line Concentrators (RLC) located on the main three inhabited islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. These RLCs are linked to the two main telephone exchanges by PCM cables, fibre optic and digital microwave systems.

With a total of 30 Base Stations scattered around the three main islands, the company today provides over 90% radio coverage to its GSM mobile users.

The telephone service in the country is fully automatic, thus enabling customers to dial and obtain connection within seconds, without assistance of an operator. International calls can be made via the International Direct Dialling (IDD) whereby customers are able to dial direct to over 250 countries worldwide.

Our policy is to focus on customers' requirements to develop network infrastructure, launch innovative products and build on high levels of customer service.
