If you don't have a private voice network at all of your sites, and you're relying on the public voice network, you're incurring expensive ‘pence per minute' costs for each call. There are few helpful features available to you.
If you have a leased line network, you do at least benefit from more features, and a simple monthly rental. However, you have to manage your own on-site equipment and integration, and maintain your local dial plans. Every time you want to connect two sites together, you have to buy a new circuit, making management more complex and adding to your costs.

Free on-net calls
With Cable&Wireless Worldwide IP Voice, all on-net calls that stay on your IP VPN are free. Pence per minute rates are only applied for off-net calls from the point of breakout to the PSTN network.
However they're dialled, all calls are automatically routed onto the most cost-effective path, with forced on-net routing wherever possible. Both on-net and off-net calls are consolidated to achieve the best rates.
Easier, cheaper off-net calls
IP Voice provides several PSTN gateways within the MPLS network, allowing off-net voice traffic to pass between our private IP VPN QoS and public voice networks. This means you don't need separate access circuits to make or receive non-IP voice calls.
If you have a smaller site which previously benefited from a Cable&Wireless Worldwide Indirect Voice connection, it can access our IP Voice over ADSL or SDSL connection and be treated as a directly connected site, reducing access costs.
Our centralised billing system makes your life easier, and offers detailed online reports for all your on-net and off-net fixed and mobile calls.

Centralised management
The Cable&Wireless Worldwide IP Voice MPLS network uses geographically resilient central software-implemented voice switches, so any changes or additions to your network are simply made once at a central location and are immediately effective at all sites. This eliminates the need to update every piece of switching equipment in your network, which is often required with traditional PBX-based networks.
It also lets you use a centralised managed dial plan, with future access to features such as Centralised Voicemail and Centralised Operator - so you don't have the expense or hassle of managing these services locally.
Simple dial plan management
Different sites in your organisation connected to the VoIP VPN network can also have short-code dialling, which automatically routes calls on-net. If you want to keep your existing geographic or non-geographic PSTN numbers, we can also transfer them to the new network. As long as there's sufficient bandwidth, all on-net traffic will be carried as high-priority, site-to-site IP traffic.
You can also establish user groups and control their access to your network. This might be an internal department, or people outside the network who require regular contact, such as partners, contractors or suppliers. The group becomes a ‘virtual' part of your corporate network.
