EWL from Cable&Wireless Worldwide offers cost-effective, secure high-speed connectivity. Much more flexible than traditional leased circuit or leased circuit emulated services, it can accommodate variable traffic at short notice.
EWL is ideal for extending your LAN capability across a wide area network. As part of our Next Generation product portfolio, EWL lets you receive multiple products and services over the same access connection, helping reduce your TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and accelerating your journey towards an integrated communications and IT infrastructure.
HOW IT WORKS
EWL connects your sites via the Cable&Wireless Worldwide secure network infrastructure, combining the benefits of Ethernet and MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching). It provides point-to-point or point-to-multipoint Ethernet connectivity between your UK sites, supporting several traffic types including voice, video and data.
With EWL you can 'flex' or increase your bandwidth at short notice by 1Mbit increments to suit your needs. EWL lets you transmit your data via a choice of three service classes, ideal if some of your traffic is critical or latency intolerant and some not so critical. This helps you prioritise your traffic and improves service resilience. You can also purchase a ‘burst’ service to cope with short-term traffic growth.
As it’s completely transparent to IP and its control protocols, EWL lets you stay in charge of your network policies.
