Core Director Network
Around the world, our MSP and IP traffic uses the strength and stability of the Cable&Wireless Worldwide Core Director Network (CDN) - our international high-speed transmission backbone. This global, high-speed network has 30 nodes linking major cities in Europe, US and Asia, with multiple protection paths and diverse routing options. It provides a widely distributed, resilient platform leaving customers' services effectively protected against unexpected events.
Our CDN also offers high-speed private line services to our partner and business customers. International private line services are available as Wave Lengths, SDH, Sonet or Ethernet across most territories.
The Core Director Network accommodates any bandwidth up to STM-64 (10Gb/s), and is self-healing in the event of a failure, automatically deploying the most appropriate protection path. This means traffic can be restored over the network even if there are several failures. Its strength, durability and advanced intelligence have been proven to protect customers' traffic even during severe disruptions such as earthquakes, tidal waves and typhoons.
Global IP backbone
Our IP Transit backbone AS1273 is Tier 1 and extends across UK, Europe, Asia and USA. Based on our ‘single architecture' principle, the core network is optimised for high-speed, low latency connectivity, providing a simple and robust design that reliably handles more than 500Gbps of customer traffic every day.
Satellite services
We have over 40 years' experience of providing VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) satellite services, linking our customers to our core or shared networks for worldwide coverage. VSAT networks offer duplex rates up to 8Mb/s, with a choice of dedicated or shared bandwidth. We can supply VSAT equipment as personal mobile, truck mounted, or rapid deploy flight-cased units.
