Our Application Performance Management (APM) product is an example of how our solutions help businesses achieve more with minimal investment, which is rapidly repaid thanks to greater efficiency. One organisation which is benefiting from APM is the Crown Office. They were unable to analyse why traffic was passing so slowly through their Wide Area Network (WAN), causing poor end-user experience on specific sites and critical business applications. APM identified which applications, user profiles and services were using inordinately large amounts of bandwidth, allowing their IT department to quickly fix the problems.
Cable&Wireless Worldwide APM now provides the Crown Office with pro-active reporting, real-time monitoring, reports, recommendations and application troubleshooting, across 40 sites. We've improved their network traffic flow and end-user experience, and have showed them how they can further improve their efficiency.
BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER

This was certainly the case for the General Healthcare Group (GHG), which after incorporating several brands, found itself with a disparate IT environment and badly performing applications - particularly email, ERP and collaboration software.
Maintaining this complex network left GHG's IT team with no time to improve its performance. We recommended a central, standardised platform, hosted at a secure Cable&Wireless Worldwide data centre. This now allows GHG to deploy new key applications, or migrate existing ones, across the business.
We also replaced their legacy ISP-type service with our Managed Exchange 2007, ensuring consistent, quality email communications for 6,000 employees over multiple sites. By replacing many conflicting platforms with one, we've not only enhanced GHG's security and business performance, but also cut their Total Cost of Ownership by 40%.
COPING WITH SCALE AND COMPLEXITY

We implemented the biggest email migration of its kind for the NHS, moving 350,000 accounts to a new Microsoft Exchange 2007 platform in just eleven weeks, with a peak transfer of 47,000 accounts in 48 hours.
We've not only increased capacity (12,000 new users join the service each month), but enabled communications mobility and better collaboration between staff - improving patient care. Yet with all its benefits, this new platform is actually delivering a saving; by replacing numerous local email systems, we've helped the NHS realise a monthly email management cost saving of up to 80%.

The customer's data is displayed on the agent's screen, allowing it to be routed without the time-consuming "Can I take your name and account number?" part of the call. This dramatically improves the customer experience and saves time and money.
