Cable&Wireless Worldwide sign Memorandum of Understanding
19 October 2010: Cable&Wireless Worldwide, a leading provider of mission critical communications, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cabinet Office in support of the Government’s efficiency and reform agenda.
Following constructive and progressive discussions with the Minister for the Cabinet Office, Francis Maude, an agreement has been reached with the Minister’s “Efficiency and Reform Group”, which fully supports Francis Maude’s immediate agenda. The MoU confirms that all current contracts remain in place. As part of the discussions, C&W Worldwide has identified ways in which its current contract base could provide savings for the Government. Additionally, going forward it opens up the opportunity for increased engagement and collaboration between C&W Worldwide and the various government departments that are looking to drive down costs and improve efficiencies.
Brian Woodford, Managing Director of Public Sector & Partners Cable&Wireless Worldwide, said: “We are encouraged by comments from the Cabinet Office that they want increased choice and competition in the procurement process. The MoU represents an important milestone as we meet the Government’s immediate efficiency agenda and commit to support its reform initiatives. We are extremely well placed to continue to deliver value for money for the Government and the tax payer.”
The outcome of this Memorandum of Understanding is in line with our recent guidance.
