PHIL WILLIAMS NAMED WINNER AT THE NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARDS 2007

Phil Williams, Head of Operational Learning & Development at Cable & Wireless, has won the much-coveted title of 'Customer Service Trainer of the Year' at the National Customer Service Awards.

Cable & Wireless aims to deliver a customer experience that is second to none. An integral part of the drive towards constant service improvement is the development and training of colleagues across every part of the business. Phil was honoured for his part in launching and running over 140 innovative learning academies, to make sure colleagues got the right training, at the right time, in the way they wanted it.

Commenting on his win, Phil Williams, Head of Leadership & Development, said, "I'm absolutely overjoyed about receiving such prestigious recognition. At Cable & Wireless, service is our number one priority and this award is a real testament to the fact that we're moving in the right direction. More importantly, the training that colleagues have received means our customers will get the service experience they deserve - both now and in the future."

The National Customer Service Awards, in their eighth year, are seen as the customer service 'Oscars', recognising the best customer service across industry.

Cable & Wireless was also a finalist in two other categories; the Hosting Implementation team was shortlisted for the Customer Service Team of the Year and Jim Marsh, CEO for Cable & Wireless Europe, Asia and US, was nominated for Customer Service Leader of the Year.
