Cable & Wireless recognises the importance of behaving in an ethical and socially responsible manner when dealing with customers, our colleagues - and in the communities in which we live and work.
Telecommunications services, like mobile and broadband, have many positive benefits and are an important enabler for economic and social development. As a result, many of our community-based policies are designed to help bridge the digital divide and improve the level of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) education.
Our Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) policy has been redefined to reflect the acquisition of Energis by Cable & Wireless on 11 November 2005 and the establishment of two self-contained operational business units – International and UK from 1 April 2006. As a result each business unit has its own separate CSR policy which is underpinned by a general set of business principles and ethics.
